Last Wild River

reż. Anastazja Dąbrowska

The Vistula River, often called “the last wild river in Europe,” hides a silent ecological conflict. Invasive crayfish—stronger, more pollution-resistant, and carriers of a deadly disease—are pushing native species toward extinction.

Dr. Witold Strużyński is fighting to restore Poland’s native crayfish, but his greatest challenge is not the invaders themselves—it is changing the way people think about nature. Joined by forest rangers, students, and curious children, he sets out to confront fears, myths, and beliefs about what it means to share our environment with “the other.”
